The University of Southern Mindanao Graduate School (GS) conducted an In-house Review last June 3, 2023 after a three-year hiatus. The aim of the In-house Review was to provide a public venue for GS students to present their work, in accordance with CHED guidelines. 

There were 14 research presenters in attendance–6 in the education category, 4 in the development category, and 4 in the applied category. Presenters were given 10 minutes to discuss highlights of their research findings. Their presentations were evaluated based on content, research design, time management, audience engagement and overall impact. The evaluators were headed by Dr. Ma. Teodora N. Cabasan, the University Vice President for Research, Development and Extension and Dr. Josephine R. Migalbin, the Consortium Director of SOXAARRDEC, and Dr. Leorence C. Tandog, the Graduate School Dean. Other evaluators were Dr. Philip Lester P. Benjamin, Dr. Florence Roy P. Salvaña, and Dr. Debbie Marie B. Verzosa.

The winners in each category are as follows:

Education Category

Cherrylee M. Buhay, for the study, “The use of enhanced Damath in learning operations on integers and developing strategic thinking”

Development Category

Sura J. Amilbahar, for the capstone project, “Kabacan National High School-Senior High School automated test generator system”

Applied Category

AP Warren P. Adamat, for the study, “African swine fever (ASF) detection using nanogold biosensor as basis for repopulation in swine farms.
