Congratulations, Dr. Pueyo for a Scopus-indexed publication derived from locally funded research.

Dr. Jacinta T. Pueyo, Campus Director of the USM PALMA Cluster of Campuses, published the article, Moms Too Soon: Status and Challenges of Teenage Mothers, in the Journal of International Women’s Studies. This journal is published by Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts, and is a Scopus-indexed journal.

The article was derived from a locally funded research with Dr. Pueyo as the Study Leader. Four themes emerged from the study; namely, Coming of Age: The Metamorphosis, Becoming a Mother, Rebuilding One’s Dream Through Education, and Support Mechanism. Results of the study have the potential to be translated to an extension program for the benefit of young adults in USM.
