November 7, 2024Dr. Elorde Jr. Simpron Crispolon, a distinguished faculty member of the University of Southern Mindanao-College of Agriculture, has achieved a significant milestone as the first Filipino scholar selected for the 2024 “Make Our Planet Great Again” (MOPGA) Visiting Fellowship Program at the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris, France.
The MOPGA program, implemented by Campus France and funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs in partnership and the Ministry for Higher Education and Research, supports early-career international researchers focused on pressing global issues across five key themes: Earth systems, climate change and sustainability, energy transition, societal challenges of environmental issues, and the “One Health” approach to human, animal and ecosystem health.
This prestigious fellowship advances international collaboration on sustainability, and Dr. Crispolon’s selection underscores both his academic achievements and the Philippines’ growing role in addressing global environmental challenges.
Applications for the 2025 MOPGA fellowship, which will welcome at least 60 more researchers, are currently open.
