USM Expands with Strategic Land Use: Breaking Ground for Two New Buildings

The Department of Agriculture-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) at the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) was named the Top Performing Regional Center in the country for 2024 during the National Performance Assessment on March 24, 2025, at the DA-PCC National Headquarters in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.
Among 12 regional centers nationwide, DA-PCC at USM emerged at the top with an average rating of 106.19% on the Major Final Output (MFO) Scoreboard. The center accomplished 100% of its targets for the year.
Dr. Geoffray R. Atok, Center Director of DA-PCC at USM, credited the achievement to the strong teamwork and shared commitment of the entire team.
“We worked together as a team, encouraged one another, stayed focused on our objectives, constantly evaluated our progress, and found ways to improve our work,” the director said in an interview.
“Yun bang we fostered a culture of collaboration and cooperation, setting aside individual differences for a common goal.” He ended.
DA-PCC at USM has made strides in enhancing local livelihoods through increased milk production, the development of carabao-based enterprises, and the promotion of innovative technologies in the carabao industry.
