The provincial government of Cotabato led by Governor Nancy A. Catamco and Vice Governor Emmylou T. Mendoza offered relief assistance to stranded students of University of Southern Mindanao and donated aerosol box to USM Hospital.

Sacks of rice and boxes of sardines and corned beef were delivered to the campus on Wednesday. The food packs will be distributed to USM students who were stranded in Kabacan after the lockdown in their respective areas was implemented.

The Office of Student Affairs has been closely monitoring the condition of the stranded students.

Meanwhile, an aerosol box was donated to USM Hospital on April 2, 2020. Dr. Liza Mariposque, who facilitated the request through the endorsement of USM President Dr. Francisco Gil N. Garica, was there to receive the fiber glass aerosol box.

Officials of Department of Health Region 12 chose USM Hospital to be the isolation center for persons under investigation (PUI) after the hospital passed the standards set by DOH-12 to become a PUI isolation facility. The USM Hostel has also been opened to frontliners as their quarantine facility for 14 days.

As of April 22, the Integrated Provincial Health Office reported 57 persons under monitoring (PUM), 6 suspect cases, 6 probable cases, and 3 confirmed cases. Out of the 3 COVID-19 cases, 2 patients are now asymptomatic but have to be placed on isolation at the Provincial Hospital in Amas and 1 (patient 3272) has fully recovered.
