The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) through the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics (BS AgEcon) Department of the College of Business Development Economics and Management (CBDEM) officially  received the results from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. as Level IV-Reaccredited program the highest level of accreditation by the AACCUP Inc. on June 02, 2025. 

Dr. Lawrence Anthony U. Dollente, a member of the Board of Trustees of AACCUP Inc. and the University Quality Assurance Office (UQAO) Director, alongside Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, the USM President, handed over the results. 

Also, Dr. Irving Fajarito, Jr., Dean of CBDEM, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the faculty members for their dedication and hard work. He emphasized how meaningful it was for him to oversee the achievement of the Level IV Reaccreditation for the BS Agricultural Economics program as the accomplishment was earned during his tenure as dean.

Meanwhile, President Pimentel said its highly important when people work together in reaching shared goals. He highlighted that truly USM can now compete with the universities in the country and even in the global scale. He expressed optimism that through the continued efforts of CBDEM, the university will move closer to its vision of becoming an entrepreneurial institution.

Furthermore, Prof. Magdalena A. Guiamal, a former faculty member of BS AgEcon, also joined the celebration. She said she was joyful for the invitation. She congratulated the department to finally earn the Level IV-Reaccreditation. 

USM now have two Level IV Reaccredited programs namely BS AgEcon, and Bachelor of Science in Biology.
