USM-CA TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT CENTER OFFERS 5 TESDA-REGISTERED PROGRAMS

The University of Southern Mindanao College of Agriculture Training and Assessment Center is a TESDA-accredited institution that provides TVET or Technical and Vocational Education training courses under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). The Center offers the following five NC II courses: Agricultural Crops Production (ACP), Organic Agriculture Production (OAP), Pest Management (PM), Rubber Production (RP), and Rice Machinery Operation.
Accreditation for qualification of ACP NC II, OAP NC II, PM NC II, and RP NC II is from June 16, 2021 to June 16, 2023, while accreditation for RMO NC II is from October 18, 2019 to October 16, 2021. The training and assessment center has a capacity to train 25 trainees per batch and 10 persons per batch for the assessment. The training duration for ACP NCII is 336 hours, 232 hours for OAP NCII, 312 hours for PM NCII, 322 hours for RP NCII, and 232 hours for RMO NCII. Three ACP NC II trainings were conducted with 45 trainees in 2018, six trainings with 145 trainees in 2019, two trainings with 52 trainees in 2020, and one training with 25 trainees in 2021. Four OAP NC II trainings were conducted with 100 trainees in 2019, two trainings with 53 trainees in 2020, and four trainings with 45 trainees in 2021. Five PM NC II trainings were conducted with 125 trainees in 2019, one training with 26 trainees in 2020, and one training with 20 trainees in 2021. Seven RP NC II trainings were conducted with 142 trainees in 2019, and two trainings with 50 trainees in 2021. Finally, four RMO NC II trainings were conducted with 68 trainees in 2019, six with 100 trainees in 2020, and four trainings with 100 trainees in 2021.
To learn from each course, one must have a good trainer with the necessary skills and knowledge. The USM CA Training and Assessment Center considers its trainers to be among the best in the industry with extensive experience and qualifications. The trainers are Dr. Adeflor G. Garcia as their Center Manager, Dr. Samsudin S. Panday, Ronald D. Superioridad, Dr. Purification O. Cahatian, Joseph O. Castillo, Clark I. Maarat, ; Engr. Renel M. Alucilja, Dr. Marilyn S. Painagan, Rezin G. Cabantug, Dr. Flora P. Nicor, Shieryl Ortiza, Alven Delson, Alvin John Villanueva, and Engr. Willie Jones B. Saliling.
Depending on the specific course of interest, the cost of training and tuition fees may differ. Enrollees may also apply for available scholarship programs such as the Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program (TTSP), Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP), Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA), and Special Training for Employment Program (STEP).
