USM Recognizes Researchers, Innovators Through PRAISE Awards

Prof. Jovelyn F. Gesulga of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) Department of Development Communication presented Component 8 of the CONNECT Project–Ugnayan sa Radyo during the FORKAPI and ADCEP 1st Joint International Conference in Development Communication, held on September 8–10, 2026, in Bogor, Indonesia.
Anchored on the theme “Bridging Knowledge and Practice for Sustainable and Inclusive Well-being in the Disruptive Era,” the conference gathered development communication scholars, educators, researchers, and practitioners to share insights, experiences, and innovative solutions to pressing contemporary challenges.
The presentation spotlighted Ugnayan sa Radyo, USM’s flagship radio-based extension and development communication initiative. The project translates research-based knowledge, emerging technologies, and practical solutions into accessible radio programming for farmers, local communities, and key stakeholders.
Prof. Gesulga’s participation showcased USM’s effective community engagement strategies on the international stage, reaffirming the university’s commitment to advancing research, extension, development communication, and inclusive community growth.
