The Extension Services Office (ESO) through the Monitoring and Impact Assessment Unit monitored and evaluated the project SULAT: Strengthening, Understanding, Literacy, Advocacy, and Tourism for Blaan Youth, Educators, and Community Guides on July 21, 2026, at the ESO TC Room.

Education Program Specialist I Ms. Rahima A. Cabunto spearheaded a Key-Informant Interview (KII) with Project Leader Prof. Elangbai B. Dimasingkil and Component Leader Prof. Estella B. Barbosa.

Central to the discussion were the project’s accomplishments, implementation activities, and coordination processes. A key highlight was the potential impact and sustainability of the project, which sparked a comprehensive dialogue between the monitoring and project teams.

“We need to ensure laying out all our interventions after conducting a rigorous community needs assessment so that during the implementation phase, we can move forward seamlessly,” Ms. Cabunto expressed.

Standing as the Project Leader, Prof. Dimasingkil recognized the activity as a crucial step towards maintaining a high standard of accountability and project quality.

“Conversations like these help us to really know what things do we still need to consider during the implementation phase so we could have an impactful extension,” Prof. Dimasingkil responded.

The KII concluded with the team planning to strategically implement its remaining components. Guided by the feedback mechanism initiated by the Monitoring and Impact Assessment Unit, SULAT will ensure lasting impact to its target beneficiaries. This underscored the Unit’s efforts to institutionalize systematic evaluation and continuous improvement across extension programs.
