
ESO Strategizes Implementation of 2027 Projects with CECs

Representative from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Fisheries paid a courtesy visit to the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) on May 12, 2026, at the Office of the President, Administration Building, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
The visit was conducted in line with the hybrid inspection and monitoring activity for the university’s Bachelor of Science in Fisheries program under the College of Agriculture.
During the meeting, USM President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, CA Dean Dr. Efren E. Magulama, Prof. Leonila V. Papalid, and Ms. Melizza L. De Jesus, the Supervising Professional Regulations Officer of PRC RO XII, discussed the current standing of the BS Fisheries program, including the university’s performance in the Fisheries Licensure Examination and the accomplishments of USM Fisheries alumni who continue to excel in various sectors of the fisheries profession.



The inspection and monitoring activity also covers the evaluation of the program’s curriculum, course outlines, faculty qualifications, instructional materials, laboratories, academic facilities, and other areas essential to maintaining quality fisheries education.
The activity forms part of the PRC’s continuing efforts to ensure that higher education institutions offering fisheries programs remain aligned with national academic and professional standards.
