The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) top management and members of the Administrative Council met to review the university’s performance for 2025 on February 12–13, 2026 at the University Commercial Building, Kabacan, Cotabato.

The review aimed to assess the progress of different offices, highlight major accomplishments for the year, identify areas that need improvement, and address the challenges they encountered.

The review covered reports from the Academic Units, Academic Support Units, Advanced Education, Research, Development and Extension (RDE), USM-Kidapawan City Campus, and the campuses in M’lang and Antipas. It also included reports from the Administration and Finance, the Office of the President and its attached offices, and the Resource Generation and Entrepreneurial Services (RGES).

Engr. Willie Jones B. Saliling, the Faculty Regent, observed that faculty members who handle administrative tasks may have personal contributions in their IPCRs that were not properly targeted. He noted that some of these contributions may have already supported the OPCRs, but they were not clearly counted. He emphasized that the university should properly identify and include these contributions to avoid any gaps. He also said that setting clear targets will encourage faculty members to put more effort into their work.

Moreover, Ms. Mary Adeline Sagayno, the Student Regent, congratulated the attendees for their achievements in the past year. She said that many things happen behind the scenes that students do not always see. She appreciated that students’ concerns, as well as the concerns of other stakeholders of the university, are discussed during the review.

She also shared that she looks forward to the continued progress of the university. She acknowledged that the responsibilities of service providers are not easy. She reminded the university personnel to make sure that what they present in reports matches what they actually implement.

The review was spearheaded by Planning and Development Office (PDO), University Quality Assurance Office (UQAO), and the Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO), and highly supported by the Performance Management Team (PMT) with Engr. Renel M. Alucilja as Chairperson, and the PMT secretariat.
