
Soil Health Takes Center Stage At Major Agusan Summit

All eighty-nine (89) first-year Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students from the University of Southern Mindanao (USM), under the College of Human Ecology and Food Sciences (CHEFS), Hospitality Management (HM) Department, have successfully passed the TESDA National Certificate II (NCII) for Cookery.
The assessment took place at Kidapawan Technical School and Security Training Center, Inc. (KTSSTCI)as TESDA Accredited Assessment Center on November 11 to November 18, 2025.
During the assessment, the students showed their cooking skills and knowledge, meeting all the requirements for national certification. Their shared success reflects their hard work, the strength of the department’s program, and the support given by the faculty and staff.
The Cookery NCII certification is a nationally recognized credential that proves these students have the skills they need to work as cooks in different food service settings. The 100% passing rate shows how well USM’s CHEFS program prepares students for the hospitality industry and helps set them up for future success.
