Faculty members from the College of Education (CED) of the University of Southern Mindanao attended the 4th DOST-SEI International Conference held on November 26–28, 2025, at the Heritage Hotel, Pasay City.

Dr. Hazel Ann Soriano, Dr. Kautin Kulano, Dr. Paul John Ongcoy, Prof. Faith Buned, Prof. Airene Rosete, and Prof. Watarie Manto represented the college in the international event.

The conference gathered educators, policymakers, and STEM experts to discuss sustainable practices in STEM education and emphasize the important role of teachers in nation-building. The event featured plenary sessions and workshops led by invited speakers from the Philippines and abroad.

The activity supports Project STAR’s goal of empowering Filipino teachers by exposing them to global perspectives, new technologies, and innovative teaching strategies.

With the theme “Bridging STEM Sustainability: Empowering Educators as Nation-builders,” the Science Education Institute of DOST, through the Project Science Teacher Academy for the Regions (STAR), organized and hosted the conference.
