Jonald L. Pimentel, PhD, the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) President, formally took his oath as Vice President for Mindanao of the State Universities and Colleges Association of Colleges of Agriculture in the Philippines (SUC-ACAP) on September 24, 2025, at Commission on Higher Education Central Office, Quezon City.

CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis administered the ceremony that marked the official induction of the newly elected SUC-ACAP officers for 2025–2027.

President Pimentel was elected during the SUC-ACAP Inc. Biennial Conference held last August 2025 in Tagbilaran City, hosted by the Bohol Island State University (BISU). He will serve alongside other regional and national representatives in steering agricultural state universities and colleges toward stronger collaboration and innovation.

SUC-ACAP Inc., a national organization of state universities and colleges specializing in agriculture, convenes every two years to elect officers and set policy directions aimed at advancing agricultural education, research, and extension programs.
