The faculty members of the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) participated in a seminar titled “Unleashing Leadership Potential for the Engineering Faculty” with Dr. Marleonie Bauyot, PhD, a faculty member from the Graduate School of Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) as the resource speaker, onAugust 19, 2025, at the Kundo E. Pahm Learning Resource Center, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.

The seminar aimed to enhance the leadership capabilities of engineering educators, equipping them with vital skills in decision-making, teamwork, and innovation that are essential for academic and institutional growth.

Dr. Bauyot led interactive discussions and emphasized the importance of strategic decision-making, effective team management, conflict resolution, and innovation as tools to sustain excellence in teaching and research. His expertise in leadership, management, and education provided the participants with deep insights into the challenges and opportunities that academic leaders face in engineering and technology education. Dr. Bauyot, in his discussion, provided real-life scenarios and case studies that resonated with the daily experiences of faculty members in both academic and administrative settings.

To ensure the continuity of learning and application, faculty members were tasked to submit their reflections, discussions, and outputs through the University’s Linang Tao portal. These submissions will form part of their documentation for the DYCAS and Sintido platforms, which are utilized by the Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO) as bases for merit promotions.
