Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, USM President, opened USM doors to Dr. Liza G. Battad, Executive Director of the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) National Headquarters and Genepool along Dr. Geoffray R. Atok, DA-PCC at USM Director, and staff on September 3, 2025, at the Office of the President, USM administration Building, Kabacan, Cotabato.
The visit served as a visit of gratitude of Director Battad to President Pimentel for showing his support to DA-PCC through his approval in hosting the 11th National Carabao Conference in USM on September 16 to 19, 2025.
Guided with the theme, “Matatag na Industriya ng Pagkakalabawan at Gatas: Maunlad na Ekonomiya ng Pilipinas”, a general assembly of the National Carabao Industry Stakeholders Association (NCISA) is set to be one of the highlights of the event. It aims to gather significant partners of DA-PCC in the Philippines to discuss by-laws, policies, and possible implementations of rules and regulations.
Moreover, the event will also execute discussions to alleviate faced challenges in the Carabao Industry. The discussions include Matatag na Industriya ng Pagkakalabawan at Gatas: Maunlad na Ekonomiya ng Pilipinas, Extension of Shelf Life, Best Practices in Production (SMART Agri Management System-Climate Adaptation), Processing, Marketing, at Policies Supportive of the Carabao Industry.
The National Carabao Conference (NCC) is an annual event in the Philippines, organized by the DA-PCC, that brings together stakeholders to share knowledge, best practices, and innovations in the carabao industry.
