Reinforcing ties and exploring new opportunities for collaboration, the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) welcomed the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) delegation on August 26, 2025, at the Office of the President, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
Executive Director Donald James D. Gawe led the delegation with his staff Michael Jake A. Nobleza.
While, Dr. Leorence Tandog, Vice President for Academic Affairs, along with Dr. Bonifacio Solsoloy (Director, National Service Training Program), Dr. Glyn Magbanua (Director, Extension Services Office), and Dr. Anamarie Uyanguren (Faculty, College of Arts and Social Sciences) welcomed the team.
Discussions centered on sustaining the partnership between PNVSCA and USM, with particular attention to embedding volunteerism within academic programs and co-curricular activities. Both parties explored ways to institutionalize volunteer work as part of the learning experience, enabling students to apply their knowledge in service to communities.
Future initiatives were considered to strengthen the culture of volunteerism across the academe to ensure that students and partner communities alike benefit from sustainable and inclusive development programs.
