Guidelines and Protocols for the 79th Commencement Exercises 
University Auditorium, Kabacan, Cotabato | June 25-27, 2025

I. ENTRY AND EXIT ROUTES

    Gate Opens at 4:00 AM (June 27, 2025)

A. Guests,  Administrators, Faculty, Staff

  • Entry/Exit: Mercado Gate

B. Graduating Students, Escorts, Drivers

  • Entry: Main Gate

C.   Direction-Based Entry Points

  • Those coming from Davao
    • Entry/Exit: USMARDC Gate → via College of Agriculture
  • Those coming from Northern Kabacan
    • Entry/Exit: IMEAS Section Gate → via Aringay Road (near College of Trades & Industries)
  • Those coming from Cotabato Direction
    • Entry/Exit: IMEAS Gate → via Purok Miracle (near College of Trades & Industries)
  • Those coming from Poblacion, Kabacan
    • Entry: Main Gate
    • Exit: Mercado Gate

II.   SECURITY & INSPECTION PROTOCOLS

All persons and vehicles entering the University must comply with the following:

  • All passengers must disembark for inspection.
  • Vehicle passes will be issued upon entry and must be surrendered when exiting.
    • Lost passes: Drivers will be referred to the University Security & Services Office for verification and CCTV review.
  • Cooperation with inspection teams is mandatory.
  • Wear IDs at all times:
    • Staff/Students: USM ID
    • Visitors: Valid government-issued ID

III.  PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDELINES

  • Only official photographers (assigned per college) are allowed to cover the event.  They will carry official USM Photographer IDs.
  • Personal photographers are not allowed during the processional and ceremony.

IV.     PROHIBITIONS

The following are prohibited:

  1. Bulky items (unless in transparent bags)
  2. Jackets, backpacks, and sharp objects
  3. Single-use plastics  USM enforces a strict No Single Use Plastic Policy
    Use tumblers and reusable containers
  4. Smoking and liquor
  5. Vendors inside campus
  6. Tricycles during the ceremony

V.      FOOD & TRASH GUIDELINES

  • Food is allowed but must be in transparent containers.
  • Clean as you go and take your trash with you.

VI.    PARKING INSTRUCTIONS

  • Park only in designated parking areas.
  • Follow directions of traffic marshals and security personnel.
