The University of Southern Mindanao through the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) conducted 26th Gawad Parangal in recognition to the most outstanding students and organizations in different fields on June 03, 2025, at the University Auditorium, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.

Halid Pandulo, a student of Political Science, and the President of Political Science Society earned the most coveted award—the Most Outstanding Student of the Year.

Moreover, for the first time, Kenny Floyd Montelija, the University Student Government (USG) President, was awarded with Plaque of Recognition by the Board of Regents (BOR). It was in recognition for his outstanding leadership, dedicated service, and unwavering commitment to student welfare and participatory governance.

In a video presentation, the recipients of the Most Outstanding Student of the Year award over the years expressed their gratitude to USM for receiving the award. In their statements, they mentioned how the award have helped them build a career after graduating from USM.

Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, the USM President, graced the activity as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. The 26th Gawad Parangal was guided by its theme: “Engage, Empower, Excel: Leadership for Academic Performance.”
