June 4, 2025
A total of 3,482 students of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) took part in the 23rd National Service Training Program (NSTP) Graduation Ceremony for Academic Year 2024–2025, held on June 3, 2025, at the University Auditorium, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
Of the total graduates, 2,779 completed the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), while 703 cadets graduated under the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC).
The ceremony, which carried the theme “Pagsibol ng Kaunlarang Pansibiko sa Bagong Pilipinas,” featured a keynote address by University President Dr. Jonald Pimentel.

During his speech, Dr. Pimentel emphasized the importance of civic responsibility and nation-building.
“Ang ating mga matutunan kapag hindi natin ito ginawa o ibinahagi sa iba ay mananatiling walang saysay,” he reminded the graduates.
Moreover, he stressed the significance of unity and collaboration in civic efforts. “Mas malayo ang kaya nating abutin kung tayo ay may kaagapay. We are each other’s helping hands,” he added.
Following the keynote, NSTP-CWTS Student President Mark John Ibba also shared an inspiring message. He pointed out that the graduates’ accomplishments extend beyond environmental work. “We turn vision into action,” he said.
To conclude the program, awards were given to outstanding students and exemplary NSTP initiatives in recognition of their excellence and contributions throughout the year.
Prof. Bonifacio Solsoloy, the Director of NSTP, Prof. Joel Misanes, the Program Head of ROTC, and Prof. Jeson Donque, the Program Head of CWTS, spearheaded the ceremony.
