To strengthen its commitment to efficient public service delivery, the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) launched its observance on Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Month 2025 with a kickoff ceremony on May 06, 2025 at the Administration Building, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.

Spearheaded by the Committee on Anti-Red Tape (CART) through its Chairperson Dr. Lawrence Anthony U. Dollente, the initiative aligns with the national campaign themed “From Red Tape to Red Carpet: Better Business Movement in a Bagong Pilipinas.” The campaign aims to promote faster, more transparent, and people-centered public services in accordance with Republic Act No. 11032, also known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.

The initiative is strongly supported by USM President Dr. Jonald P. Pimentel and affirmed the university’s commitment to good governance and service excellence.

During the ceremony, Dr. Pimentel expressed his full support for the campaign and congratulated the team who organized the activity for their efforts.

We would like to congratulate the team for this celebration as we join the 2025 Ease of Doing Business Month,” he said. “This is a very important celebration for us to be reminded that we should be quick, and we should streamline all the procedures in doing business, because it has a consequence, especially on our development,” The president added.

Further, Dr. Dollente highlighted the importance of institutional accountability and the university’s role in setting an example for efficient service delivery in the public sector.

This month-long celebration is more than just a calendar event. It is a call to action… to make government services faster, simpler, and more accessible for every Filipino,” said the UQAO Director.

As part of the celebration, USM rolled out visible efforts like the EODB banners and updated social media cover photos. Fast lanes have also been set up for selected services such as the Admission and Records Office (ARO), USM Hospital, and accounting offices. An upcoming livestream will also showcase one of ARO’s improved processes to further assist clients.

Before the launching ended, certificates of recognition were given to outstanding offices and colleges that have shown exemplary efforts in delivering efficient services through their customer feedback from the year 2024.
