Six academic programs of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) underwent an AACCUP Online Accreditation Survey Visit from September 2 to 4, 2025, at the University Commercial Building, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.

The said programs were as follows:

(3rd Survey)
BS in Computer Engineering
BS in Electronics Engineering 

(4th Survey – Phase I, Revisit Areas V, VI, IX) 
BS in Industrial Technology 

(4th Survey – Phase II)
AB in Psychology 

(4th Survey – Phase II)
BS in Nutrition and Dietetics, and 
Ph.D. in Agricultural Science

Dr. Ronnie N. Parica of the University of Rizal System (URS) served as the overall coordinator of the accreditation exercise. In his message, Dr. Parica expressed gratitude for the active participation and commitment of the program chairs and its faculty members. 

“Our engagement with our local counterparts throughout the process has been both productive and encouraging. They consistently demonstrated professionalism, transparency and a strong commitment in upholding academic quality and institutional excellence.” He emphasized.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Lawrence Anthony U. Dollente, the University Quality Assurance Office (UQAO) Director, highlighted his gratitude to the commitment of the  faculty members and staff from different programs of USM. 

“Despite the equally important ongoing activities, the steadfast dedication of our local counterparts—our department heads, faculty, support staff and administrators—who work tirelessly and selflessly while balancing the many academic and institutional responsibilities that come with university calendar was beyond question… your perseverance in the face of this challenges reflects the very heart and spirit of USM.” He underscored.

Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, USM President, also graced the accreditation exercise and said that USM is committed to continuous improvement and will make sure resources are used wisely to support the best learning outcomes and high-quality service in the university. 

“This endeavor is a manifestation of our dedication to continuous improvement quality assurance and the advancement of student learning outcomes… we sincerely appreciate the valuable insights and constructive feedback provided by our accreditors, their guidance not only strengthen our service but also steers us towards our ongoing mission of delivering excellence in education.” The President remarked.

Accreditors from various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the country conducted evaluations of their respective academic programs. At USM, the activity was actively supported by local counterparts, including faculty members, academic support staff, and administrative personnel.
