A newly constructed covered court worth ₱4,986,730.41 now stands at the University of Southern Mindanao – Aleosan, following its formal turnover on July 23, 2025.
The infrastructure is funded by the Provincial Government of Cotabato under the leadership of Governor Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza. It forms part of the ₱5.9 million support allocated to Aleosan, that also includes the completion of a similar project at Aleosan National High School.
Representing the university during the turnover were Dr. Leorence C. Tandog, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Leonard Paleta, Director for Instruction. Both officials acknowledged the provincial government’s support for public higher education and expressed gratitude on behalf of the USM community.
Governor Mendoza, during her message, emphasized the role of public institutions in promoting free and quality education under Republic Act 10931, which upholds the right to quality and accessible tertiary education.




Also present during the ceremony were officials and personnel from the USM PALMA Cluster, led by Dr. Gideon S. Sumayo, OIC Campus Director, together with Prof. Altair V. Neri of Libungan, Prof. R. Vibekehh N. D. Bat-og of Aleosan, and Prof. Leo M. Gayao of Alamada.
USM expresses its full support in utilizing the facility as an active campus space that enhances student learning, encourages participation, and strengthens the university’s connection with its local communities.
