Prof. Faith P. Buned, and Jessa O. Roa, from the College of Education (CED) of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) attended the 1st Early Childhood Educators Summit on May 22-23, 2025 at the Ritz Hotel at Garden Oases, Davao City.
The 1st Early Childhood Educators Summit is a dynamic two-day training workshop that aims to explore emerging global trends, research-based strategies, and best practices in early childhood education, integrate innovative curricula, pedagogies, and tools in teaching and learning, and strengthen teacher professionalism and enhance leadership in early childhood Education.
Topics discussed were Foundation of the Science of Reading, Key Components of Early Literacy Instruction, and Integrating STEM in the Early Years. Workshops and demonstrations followed the discussions.
According to Prof. Buned, the Gender-Child Care Center (GCCC) teachers were updated with the latest research, trends, and methodologies in early childhood education, enhancing their teaching skills and knowledge during the summit.
“More importantly, it ignited more of our passion for teaching little children. The university’s participation in the summit demonstrates its commitment to excellence in early childhood education,” She spoke.
Early childhood educators, school administrators, students and teachers of teacher education joined the activity.
