Nineteen pupils from the Gender-Child Care Center (GCCC) of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) completed their Pre-Kindergarten Program today, May 26, 2025, at the Graduate School Conference Room, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato, with 10 from Pre-Kindergarten 2 and 9 from Pre-Kindergarten 1.
In their cutesy Barong and Filipiniana attire, the pupils earned their ribbons, medals, and certificates on stage alongside their proud parents and guardians and performed song number during the ceremony.
Sampson Ad-Din N. Panday, a completer from GCCC and now personnel of USM, served as the guest of honor and speaker. He thanked the parents and teachers of the Child Center for their patience, encouragement, and endless support. He also recalled being a product of the center and expressed his gratitude to the teachers for their passion in teaching kindergarten, reassuring them that their dedication leaves a lasting impact on the lives of their students.
Moreover, Dr. Ma. Leslie Sales, the Dean of the College of Education (CED), expressed his support to the activity. She addressed her message to the parents of the completers and shared in her talk the lessons she gained as a mother to her child.
“Our children are not here to be who we expect them to be, they are here to become who they truly are. Our job, as parents, is not to shape them in our image, but to give the space, the love, and the confidence to grow into themselves fully and freely.” She emphasized.
Furthermore, Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, the USM President, also attended the ceremony. He addressed his message to the completers.
“Sa ating mga kabataan, congratulations sa inyong achievement at sa awards na inyong natanggap. Wag ninyong kalimutang maging magalang sa inyong mga magulang at nakatatanda. Lagi kayong maging mabait, at higit sa lahat, lagi ninyong pasalamatan ang ating Panginoon sa mga biyayang kanyang patuloy na ibinibigay.” The President underscored.
The GCCC of USM under the College of Education is headed by Prof. Faith P. Buned along Jessa O. Roa, the Pre-Kindergarten 1 and 2 teacher.
