Dr Molao, appointed new CFCST President PDF Print E-mail

Dr Samson L Molao, Associate Professor III, past Director for Instruction and Officer-Incharge VP for Academic affairs was newly appointed as President of the Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology (CFCST) on March 15, 2011. He obtained a majority vote from the Board of Trustees with 7 votes against three contenders from CFCST namely; Dr Delfin Moreno, Dr Rene Gallador, and Dr Harris Sinolinding.  President Molao took office immediately with formal start of office on April 1, 2011. He believes that his experiences during his stay at USM greatly contributed in his qualifications. The selection has started from December 10, 2010 to March 15, 2011.

Dr Molao  served USM as the Director of Instruction for two years now (2009-present). He was a core faculty of the USM Graduate School since 2003. He became the Associate Dean of USM Graduate School  from January 8, 2002 to November 14, 2004. He was a Professor at USM in the year 2002 at the College of Education and USM Graduate School. He rose from the ranks as Instructor in 1992 to 2005 at USM Buluan, Maguindanao. He was then transferred to USM Integrated Laboratory School at Lumayong, Kabacan, Cotabato from 1995 to 2001.

The new CFST President hails from Poblacion, Pagalungan, Maguindanao and was born on September 23, 1969. He is married to Prof Sofia G Molao and is blessed with 6 children. He earned his degree in Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies in 1992 at the Institute of Middle East and Asian Studies, University of Southern Mindanao. He completed his masteral degree on Professional Studies and doctoral degree on Education at USM on 1995 and 2000, respectively. He is a member of various organizations which include: Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines (Rio Grande Lodge No 192); Philippine Social Science Society; Philippine Political Science Association; Board of Director, National Association  of Registrars of State Universities and Colleges (NARSUC); and International Association of Historians of Asia.
