National Multiple Personality Day is celebrated every 5th day of March. This day is thought to be observed to reflect on ourselves and consider who we are. We all have multiple faces for various situations, and we frequently lose sight of our true selves. So, this day serves as a reminder to pause and pay attention to your thoughts and characteristics.
The illness known as dissociative identity disorder, formerly known as multiple personality disorder, causes a person’s identity to be divided into two or more distinct personality states. For medical professionals, this illness continues to be poorly understood and somewhat puzzling. Depression, suicide attempts, self-harm, altered levels of functioning, depersonalization, substance misuse, and auditory or visual hallucinations are among the symptoms. Hence, raising awareness of the disease is crucial.
Comemorate the day by creating awareness about the disorder while spreading the known information with your neighbors, family, and friends. You can also learn about the history of people suffering from multiple personality disorders which are exciting and even eye-opening.
