Cagayan de Oro City – USM Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Lope Dapun was named runner-up for PwC’s National Accounting Teacher of the Year.

The award which was presented by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Philippines and Isla Lipana & Co. in cooperation with the National Association of CPAs in Education (naCPAe) is given to exceptionally dedicated, knowledgeable, and skilled teacher in accounting in a university or college. The awardee should be a distinguished model of excellence who helped uplift standards of the teaching profession.

The winners were announced during the naCPAe’s 2019 National Convention on April 29, 2019 at Mallberry Suites Business Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

“Truly, competing against teachers from famous and classiest schools nationwide is a big challenge. Being in a rural area with limited resources, it is likened to David competing against Goliath,” said VP Dapun.

Dr. Dapun, a Professor VI, teaches BS Accountancy students of the College of Business, Development Economics and Management (CBDEM). He shares this recognition to his current and former students, peers, dean, family, and to USM for all the support and motivation.
